GENERAL Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye Thursday night explained that God has the capacity to provide anything His children ask for in His name.

Speaking on the topic, “Before they call”, Adeboye said God gave an open cheque to His children when He assured them He will answer all their prayers.

He, however, warned that God does not answer certain prayers, especially those that are contrary to His will or if He has something better for His children or when one is too casual in his/her prayer or not asking diligently or without faith.

In his words: “If you regard iniquity in your heart, God will not answer your prayer,” pointing out that you cannot be disobedient and expect God to answer your prayer. “He is the Almighty God, there is nothing He cannot do: He can cure the incurable including bareness.

“If you want God to answer your prayers, you must flee from all appearance of evil because He is not a magician. He is a holy God and will not listen to your prayer until you surrender your heart to Him,” he stressed.

Continuing, Pastor Adeboye averred that God controls time and season, maintaining that He measures time in years, months, weeks and days. God has the power to manifest series of miraculous acts in a man’s life.

“You may find out that some miracles take one year before they manifest, some need just one month, some one week, some only need a day, some are instantaneous while God does answer some prayers before His children even open their mouths to pray,” the chief host of the ongoing Holy Ghost Congress contended.

Oritsejafor commends Adeboye

IMMEDIATE past National President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, His Eminence, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor was fascinated by the progress made so far by the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, described by many as the fastest growing Pentecostal church in the world.

Pastor Oritsejafor who took the first sermon of the fourth day of the ongoing RCCG Holy Ghost Congress at the new 3-kilometre by 3-kilometre auditorium titled; “A new song,” thanked Pastor Adeboye for yielding himself and being an example that many people will follow.

Describing Pastor Adeboye and his wife as great friends who he respects a lot, not only as a global brand but also as a man who had given him a wife and as a true African, he owes them a great deal of respect as in-laws.

“The Redeemed Christian Church of God is for everybody. I believe that this ministry has grown beyond the borders of Nigeria and is actually a huge player in the global scene which makes it a church for the whole world.

“Every time I come here, there is always something different,” he said, emphasising that Nigerians owe it a duty to always identify with the giant developmental strides going in the Redemption Camp.

Oritsejafor then proceeded, in his usual charismatic approach to preaching assignments, to arouse the interest of the large crowd of worshippers by making very profound prophetic declarations to which the participants responded with loud “Amens.”

Using the biblical story of Job as a case study, the fearless erstwhile CAN president lacing his presentation speaking pidgin English to drive home his message, said Nigerian Christians sing a new song into the new year.

He emphasised that every Christian with a strong relationship with God is entitled to divine intervention which, very often, lead to the singing of a new song to express joy abundance, saying that negative spiritual occurrences happen to African Christians when they neglect their duty to their Maker.

“God does not expect any of His children to be poor or be sick, but these things come when there is sin in their lives, but as soon as they realise their folly and return to God, He gives them a new song of joy,” he stated, predicting that the new year will bring a new song to His chidren.

Okonkwo counsels youths against negative use of social media

Presiding bishop of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission, TREM, Bishop Mike Okonkwo has called on Nigerian youths to channel their energies and talents towards making positive impact in the country.

Leading thousands of worshippers in a prayer session for the Nigerians youth, Bishop Okonkwo who said youths constitute 75 per cent of the nation’s population, urged them to shun every form of distraction which is one of the major strategies employed by the devil to confuse and mislead youth.

Maintaining that God has a colorful and great plan for the youths, the bishop said: “We live in a world filled with distractions, insecurity, instability, fear, terror where our value system has been eroded. The present day world is filled with demonic activities but I want to assure us that our destiny is colorful, no matter what the enemy is doing, it cannot be compared to what God has for us.

“As youths, it is not strange to be distracted, it is one of the strategies of Satan but I urge you to remain focused, your focus should be on God, divert all your energies towards achieving God’s purpose for your life and your safety is guaranteed even in a toxic environment,” he noted.

Describing the social media as one of the veritable tools for evangelism, the cleric challenged Christian youths to effectively deploy it to propagate the gospel of Jesus Christ instead of using it to spread profanity that will not benefit readers.

In his words: “There are lots of things devil has created to distract you, thank God for the FaceBook, Instagram, Twitter,  WhatsApp and others which are always filled with gossip and other irrelevant materials but I am challenging you to use them to gossip the gospel”.

Abiara commends Buhari, Osinbajo, Adeboye

GENERAL Evangelist, Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Worldwide, Prophet Samuel Kayode Abiara, also commended the first family of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor and Pastor (Mrs) Enoch Adejare Adeboye for their support during the transition of his beloved wife, late Prophetess Christiana Abiara who was buried recently.

The prophet, who gave a special talk and prayer for family at the ongoing RCCG Holy Ghost Congress at the new auditorium, also commended the love expressed by the Vice President, Mr. Yemi Osinbajo who he said took time off his busy official schedule to attend the funeral service of his late wife in Ibadan.

Similarly, the widower called on Nigerians to support and pray without ceasing for the Buhari administration who he believes, will keep his promises to the nation if the people give him all the support he desires. Describing President Muhammadu Buhari as a good and honest person who allowed his deputy to pay their last respects for his fallen wife, Abiara urged Nigerians to constantly pray for the success of the APC government.

Praying for the restoration of peace and Godly love in all troubled homes, the widower said there is an upsurge of divorces globally because essentially couples have failed to imbibe God’s commandments that govern marriage.

Abiara who openly demonstrated his unalloyed love for his late wife kissing her photograph on a notebook, urged couples to emulate the sterling qualities that have made the Adeboyes role models after over 49 years of a very romantic love story, stating that young persons going into matrimony must embrace God-given laws of marriage which include love, forgiveness and forgeting wrong doings.

Lamenting the growing rate of divorces in the country, Abiara noted that as a result of the phenomenon, which adversely affects the children; turning them to vagabonds and touts as they lack parental care.

“Couples should forgive one another, forgive your in-laws, including your children because you do not know when you will be called by your Maker. Couples should make themselves happy and allow peace to reign in their homes.

“Do not divorce, God hates divorce, there are lots of children on the streets who have become area boys and vagabonds because their parents are separated. Husbands should not engage in any extra-marital affair. Wives are to be submissive to their husbands while husbands are duty bound to love their wives,” he maintained.

Church mandated to change the world, says Bishop Oke

President/founder of The Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Bishop Francis Wale Oke described the Church as the only institution mandated by God to save and change the world.

Oke, who led the congregation through a special prayer for the Church, explained that God has given the Church the weapon of warfare to deal with all sorts of challenges including setting free those in bondage.

In his words: “Every true church belongs to Jesus Christ and the gates of hell cannot prevail against it. Any church that will multiply should preach the gospel. We have the ability to resist devil and he will flee from us.

“Church has the key to loose and pull down, even if there is economic meltdown or Boko Haram or any stronghold of the enemy. Our mission is to save and change the world,” Oke stated.
